Panhellenic Values
A lot of women go through recruitment for the same reason: community.
Community can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For an out-of-state student, it might be a group of individuals who are also not from Ohio. For a first-gen student, it might be other first-gen students.
No matter what community is to you, it is inherently a group of individuals with similar values. Panhellenic itself is a values-based organization. Our values fall under scholarship/academics, philanthropy/service, social activities and diversity/inclusion.
Scholarship is the heart of the Panhellenic experience. Sorority and Fraternity Life has a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 for all members. Individual chapters may have a higher or lower requirement, but all members must maintain a 2.5 no matter what. There are two Greek-lettered scholarship organizations as well, Rho Lambda and Order of the Omega. Members can apply to these chapters as an extension of their sorority experience if they meet the requirements. Each chapter has academic resources to ensure the success of its members as well.
Philanthropy and service is another major piece of the sorority experience. Each chapter supports one or more philanthropic causes including fighting hunger, Girls on the Run, Ronald McDonald Charity Houses and more. Each chapter hosts events to raise funds and awareness for their philanthropies.
The CPC is committed to nurturing a community that showcases the diverse and inclusive values of the women's-only sorority experience. We expect our members to respect individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, disability, socioeconomic status or any other characteristic.
Social activities vary from chapter to chapter but are a great opportunity for sorority women to develop sisterhood and other friendships. Chapters plan events year-round with other campus organizations to strengthen the bonds between their members. They are also a privilege.
The CPC takes an active interest in building well-rounded women and sponsors many programs on campus to cultivate character, integrity and the ability to work well with others. Many times, a chapter will co-sponsor an event brought to campus by a sorority to show its support for the sisters and cause.
Sorority chapters often sponsor socials within their own organizations and with other organizations such as cookouts, parent's weekend events, semi-formals and more.
These are values Panhellenic upholds each and every day. They are important to our framework and each Panhellenic member is expected to abide by them.
